“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength” (Isaiah 26:3-4). What incredible verses! I needed these verses today. It has always amazed me how little things can just set me to worrying! Just this week I was fretting about some little, insignificant things, and I paused to pray and asked God why it is that I allow such little things to throw my confidence in Him off?
Today I want to walk with these verses as a “lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). When my way seems dark and the troubles seem to be overwhelming, I want to run to the LORD JEHOVAH and rest in His everlasting strength.
What a blessing to know that the same God who breathed life into the lungs of Adam to give him life, is watching over me today! What a blessing to know that the God Who was powerful enough to keep the waters of the Red Sea standing as a wall to allow the Israelites to pass through on dry ground is still on the throne, and the power He had then, He still has today. What a blessing to know that the God powerful enough to keep the lions mouths shut while Daniel slept among them is powerful enough today to silence those who would speak against the cause of Christ! What a blessing to know that the Savior Who stood in that ship and calmed the tumultuous seas around the disciples, can calm the troubles that will face me today!
I am not promise no troubles today. I am promised that the LORD JEHOVAH is my place of refuge and peace. Regardless of what will come across my path today or any day between now and Heaven, I am assured that the LORD JEHOVAH will be my everlasting strength! I am a blessed child of God! My prayer today is that I will allow Him to fight for me, and that I will simply be His obedient servant all along my way today. I want to attempt everything He had in mind for me when He made me for this day! My responsibility as the child of God is to keep my mind “stayed on” God. I want to find a regular parking place for my mind and the worries that normally come along for the ride in the perfect peace of God. I am also responsible to trust in the LORD forever. I want to lean so heavily on Him that when I fall, I will fall in His direction. I want to trust Him regardless of how loud and how many the opposition voices may be that rise against me. What great verses for us today! Don’t lean on your understanding today; trust the everlasting strength of God today!
