Jesus gave clear instructions when He said, “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness” (Luke 11:33-35).
Pleasing Jesus ought to be our first priority. Not only because of His nobility (He is the King of all kings and Lord of all lords), but because of the depth of His love for us in paying the ultimate sacrificial price for our sins. These words Jesus spoke to His disciples were words with great clarity and vision. We are to lift the Light high in our lives. Rather than promoting your agenda today, lift high the plan of God for your life. God has a plan that each one of us who is saved today would display the character of our Savior wherever we go, and whatever we do. Lift the Light high in your testimony today! Don’t allow the world to discourage you to the point that you are hiding it under a bushel. NO!
We need to realize that our vision greatly impacts how we will live. Our “eye” ought to have a singular focus on the same things Jesus focused on when He walked the earth. He focused on the needy that were all around Him, and will be all across our path today too. Jesus did not spend one minute worrying about what others would think of Him, but kept His focus on those everyone else would look past! He taught that we must realize that He is depending on us to get this Light to the world. Don’t allow the worlds influence to dim the light of the Gospel in your life today!
Verse 1: We’ve a story to tell to the nations that shall turn their hearts to the right, a story of truth and mercy, a story of peace and light.
Verse 2: We’ve a song to be sung to the nations that shall lift their hearts to the Lord, a song that shall conquer evil and shatter the spear and sword.
Verse 3: We’ve a message to give to the nations – that the Lord Who reigneth above hath sent us His Son to save us and show us that God is love.
Verse 4: We’ve a Savior to show to the nations Who the path of sorrow hath trod, that all of the world’s great people might come to the truth of God.Chorus: For the darkness shall turn to dawning, and the dawning to noonday bright, and Christ’s great kingdom shall come to earth, the kingdom of love and light.
