What a feeling of peace and comfort, knowing that God not only saved me, but He also keeps me.  I know there are some who will tell you that you can become “unsaved” after trusting Christ as Savior.  Don’t believe them for one second!  The word, “everlasting” means exactly what it says.  “Forever” means that it will never end.  You will always have a choice to make … will you trust your wisdom, or will you trust the promises of the Word of God?  My wisdom has proven to be so insufficient so many times that I have decided by faith to trust the Word of God.

Today in my daily reading, two verses struck my heart that ended two different chapters I had read.  “Unto Thee, O my Strength, will I sing: for God is my defense, and the God of my mercy” (Psalm 59:17) … “For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand” (Revelation 7:17)?  There may not be much of a connection in your mind, but they are inseparably linked together in my heart.  I know God because Jesus Christ has forgiven my sin and I fully trust His payment on the cross, and His resurrection from the dead to pay my sin debt before God.  I am saved forever because God made the payment and His payment was absolutely all that was needed.  Nothing more could be added, and praise God, when He has made the payment, nothing more could be taken away!

Knowing that I am trusting God gives me a “blessed hope” for the day when the wrath of God will be poured out on this old world.  I don’t have a worry in the world for that because the God Who will be in charge of the “pouring part” is my Heavenly Father.  He is THE ONE Who paid my debt … Who loved me enough to give His only-begotten Son … Who knows all my sin and had wiped clean my standing before Him through Jesus!  I’m standing with the right Person!  I’m standing WITH God.

There’s a children’s song that asks the question, “How can I fear? Jesus is near … He ever watches over me!”  Instead of worrying about an uncertain future today, stand FOR God in the world that desperately needs Him.  We hear a great deal today about caring for your fellow-man.  I believe the best way to care for other people is to tell them that there is a way of escape for the upcoming disaster that is coming.  I believe it is coming quickly; I believe it could come very soon.  Do all you can to stand FOR God today wherever you are.  He is a God of mercy, tell everyone you meet today!  You will not be sorry you did … neither will they if they accept Him!
