Check out these lessons for living the Christian life God’s way. Here are the key components to living righteously in an unrighteous world …
Love without limitations – “Let love be without dissimulation” (Romans 12:9a).
Love the things God loves, and hate the things He hates – “Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good” (Romans 12:9b).
Treat other people the way you want to be treated – “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another” (Romans 12:10).
Live enthusiastically as if you are serving the Lord in whatever you are doing – “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11).
Rejoice, be patient, and pray without stopping – “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer” (Romans 12:12).
Be generous in giving to help others – “Distributing to the necessity of the saints; given to hospitality” (Romans 12:13).
Give good to those around you and sympathize with those who are hurting – “Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep” (Romans 12:14-15).
Live righteously with those who are around you – “Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men” (Romans 12:16-18).
I know I packed a large number of verses in there today, but these are the keys that God gives us for living the Christian life with success. These things may not lead to success in the eyes of the world, but they will lead to success in the eyes of God. When I read through these verses this morning, I was reminded that we do not simply wander through this life without making an impact on those around us. Living the way God wants us to live will allow us to affect this world the way He wants us to affect them.
Living full out for God is your choice. No one can decide to fully surrender your life but you. No other person can place your life on the altar of sacrifice but you. The Bible encourages us to present our bodies a living sacrifice in the first verse of this chapter. Time is fleeing away from us. Do today what God touches your heart to do. Offer yourself to Him today!
