“This world is in such a bad way, what am I going to do?” “I have set the LORD always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8).
“I’m not sure my insurance will cover my bills that are upcoming … what am I going to do?” “I have set the LORD always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8).
“My children are getting involved in things that worry me … what am I going to do?” “I have set the LORD always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8).
“I’m not sure I will have a job next year … what am I going to do?” “I have set the LORD always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8).
“I don’t know what’s going to happen to me after I die … what am I going to do?” “I have set the LORD always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8).
Now, I know that some of you think I am so innocent that I don’t know what you are going through, and that this verse is not an answer to all the problems you are facing. I would tell you that My God is big enough to handle any and all of the challenges you are facing today and will face tomorrow. I know that the God that I serve parted the Red Sea and allowed the Israelites free access to cross onto the other side. I know that my God, even though all the forces of Hell were trying to keep Jesus in the tomb, raised Him on the third day. I know that that resurrection, when applied to my sin-debt, is the conquering force over my sin, my death, and my Hell. I am sure that my God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that I could ever ask or think when it comes to tackling my problems. It does not matter how big my problem may appear at the time. What matters is how much I will trust my God to take me through the problems that I face on a daily basis. As for me and my house … “I have set the LORD always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8).
There is an old song that said, “I don’t worry about the future, ‘Cause I know what Jesus said, And today I’m gonna walk right beside Him ‘Cause He’s the One Who knows what is ahead … But I know who holds tomorrow. And I know who holds my hand.” Hold firmly to His hand today, and trust Him!
